What is the Coming to the Promised Land 7th National Convention/Đại Hội Về Đất Hứa 7 (VDH7)?

The VDH7 is the VEYM 7th national convention that takes place once every 4 years to celebrate our achievements as the VEYM, learn of current trends and approaches to support our ever growing youth ministry, listen to nationally renounced speakers and panelists, connect with youth leaders across the country and the world, participate in various competition events, performances and workshops, mingle/bond with our brothers and sisters in Christ, and most importantly, praise and worship Christ in the Eucharist.

What is our theme?

Who are the members of the Organizing Committee?

Over 50 youth leaders from all levels of VEYM leaderships compose of the Organizing Committee. Representatives from all League of Chapters are included as executive members of the Organizing Committee. Please see flyers from VEYM Facebook.

What are the Townhall schedules?

What is the date for VDH7?

July 2nd – 5th, 2020

Where is the VDH7 convention site?

What is the start and end time for VDH7?

Registration begins at 1pm on Thursday, July 2nd; ends at 1pm on Sunday the 5th (please plan accordingly to depart after lunch).


What is the closest airport?

SAF (approx. 30min away)

ABQ (approx.. 60min)

DEN (6hrs drive; depending on number of people who registered and needing transportation from Denver, we may be able to support a bus. No guarantee.)

Will there be transportation support from the airport to the convention site?

Yes, sign up for transportation support and transportation schedule will be available after the registration deadline.


If I arrive early or stay later, will there be accommodations?

Very minimal and only through the local chapter. Please contact Đoàn Đức Mẹ Lavang in New Mexico. Tr. Teresa Đào Quỳnh Như Michelle; nhu.m.dao@gmail.com.

BTC will arrive early to set up. Those in BTC will register with BTC to request early arrival lodging. Local chapter will have a listing of places you can go and visit (google “day trip from santa fe”; St. Joseph; Holy Dirt – Lourdes in the US; Utah arch; Grand Canyon; Horseshoe bend, Garden of the Gods; etc…)

How do I register?

What is the cost and when is the deadline?

$215 on or before March 15, 2020; $250 after March 15, 2020; Absolute deadline to register is May 15, 2020. Children 5 and under are free.

What does the registration cost entail?

Admission to VDH7, memorabilia, convention booklet, lodging, meals, activities, use of recreational facilities, programing, transportation accommodations per schedule, các ban services. It does not cover food at the snack store or sale items from speakers and VEYM store (will have that info available later on to purchase).


What are the eligibility requirements?

A full fledge Huynh Trưởng, Trợ Tá, Trợ Úy, hoặc Tuyên Úy; spouse and children of HT/TT/TU welcome.

Vocations

Representatives from religious orders with an interest to be present and to promote vocations, please contact headquarters@veym.net. Free of charge to have a booth. Must contribute registration fee. Announcement to be released soon.

Can I still register if I am not yet a Huynh Trưởng but will before July?

Yes but must be promoted before VDH7. Firm registration criteria policy will be implemented and will turn away if criteria not met.


If I am a Huynh Trưởng from Vietnam, Canada, France, or Australia, can I register?

Huynh Trưởng from Canada mostly are certified from the US. They can register independently. Those from other countries are guests and can attend through the official delegation from that country. They register directly with BTC and have received a private invitation.

Those from VN who reside in the US recently, can they register independently?

No, as we do not have a reciprocity process from VN to US, we cannot certify. No different than we’re not allowing our Hiệp Sĩ 18+ to attend.

How can I request a refund?

May 15 is the deadline to request a refund / will incur $10 dollars fee for admin services / please send request to headquarters@veym.net.

What will the lodging condition be like?

Dorm room style.

Will I need beddings/sleeping bags/pillows?

Yes

Will there be programming for my young children?

We’re working on identifying parents to volunteer throughout VDH7.

What can I do to request special accommodations?

Please email headquarters@veym.net. Special diet meals are available at $15/person for those who are vegan/gluten free. There are no nuts at this location. Please be mindful of your medical conditions and needs. Please contact medecs@state.gov should you have additional needs.

Are there golf carts?

Yes, please communicate via headquarters@veym.net if interested (mainly reserve for BTC).

Can packages be sent prior?

Yes, please communicate via headquarters@veym.net.

What additional activities members should participate in?

There are numerous competitions available (e.g., t-shirt design contest; song contest; scholarships; all activities/performances; and additional from Ban Vận Động.

Misc. Questions:


How is the phone signal at the camp site and is there wifi available?

There is limited wifi available at Camp Glorietta. The Organizing Committee is encouraging participants to “disconnect” from their devices if possible to truly have a spiritual encounter at VDH7.


Can spouses sleep together in the same dorm room?

Will make everyone effort to support married couples’ requests.
